Flagship Series

The Southsea School Squads, soon to be released, captures the highs and lows of kids navigating sports, friendship, and self-discovery. The series showcases how school is about more than classrooms; it’s where identities are shaped, friendships are forged, and the biggest wins often happen off the scoreboards.

With three titles in the first volume, each story follows a different young athlete: Aly fighting to save her basketball team in A Dream Team, Stefanie breaking free from tennis expectations in Cross-Court Competition, and Yuna rediscovering swimming while facing cultural change and a chronic diagnosis in Ripple Effect.

And for readers who love spotting details, the series is filled with cross-book Easter eggs! Cameos, subtle callbacks, and shared scenes reward fans who follow the squads across every sport.

Coming Soon

Cross-Court Competition is the second book in the Southsea School Squads series. This humourous and heartfelt story navigates sibling rivalry, smashing expectations, and finding your own way to play.

SYNOPSIS: Twelve-year-old Stefanie “Tan-nis” Tan has spent her whole life in the shadow of her tennis-star sister, Serena, in a family where tennis is everything. Now she has to choose between a future her family understands, or one she wants to build through partnership and play. If she switches to Padel, will her family still be on her side?

A Dream Team is the first book in The Southsea School Squads series. This fast-paced middle-grade story is all about friendship, fun, and fighting for what you love— even when it doesn’t go to plan.

SYNOPSIS: When Southsea’s junior basketball girls’ squad is left short of players, Aly Lee-Andrews has to turn mismatched talent into teamwork. If they can make it through every clash and fumble, they just might show Southsea— and themselves— what they’re capable of.

Ripple Effect is the third book in The Southsea School Squads series. This powerful story explores resilience, rivalry, and rediscovery when life changes the rules of the game.

SYNOPSIS: Yuna Chong set her new personal best at the championship she trained so hard for—then life totally changed. With a Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis and unexpected emigration, Yuna fights to find her rhythm again, balance friendship with fierce competition, and show Southsea she’s more than her diagnosis.
